"People think Yoga means always standing on your head or doing some pose. But the aim of yoga is to calm the mind. That's why it's called Integral Yoga, because we integrate everything; mind, body, and spirit."
~Sri Swami Satchidananda.

About Michelle M.:

Michelle started on her yoga journey four years ago. She fell in love with it immediately, the effects it had on her body at first, but also began to notice how it made her feel good on the inside as well. A spark lit within her and she decided to learn more. And so the path was set in motion. She decided that she wanted to share her experience with others. She studied with Sundari Finlayson at Integral Yoga's Satchidananda Ashram and Retreat Center at Yogaville - Buckingham, Virginia. There she completed the intensive part of a 200 hr. certification for Yama Therapeutics. When she returned home she studied intensely for the following six months teaching a class for stress management. In the beginning of 2009 she began to teach at the local recreation center. At this time her predestined path began to pull her towards opening a studio. As things fell into place she decided to offer yoga in Radford, Va., a place she and her family have called home for the last seven years. Giving back to the community in which she lives is very important to her. More recently Michelle attended the Yoga Journal Conference in Colorado deepened her studies by having the oppurtunity to take classes with Gary Kraftsow a leading Yoga Therapist and the world renound D.K.V. Desikachar whose lineage and teachings she follows. Michelle believes in the anchient traditions of yoga and teaches her classes with the philiosophical ways of those who set the path for yoga but incorporates new advances and knowledge that ensures a safe yoga practice for each and every student as she realizes that each pose can be different for each student.
